Nervous!

 2 weeks to go. 

My BIG day is approaching! 

If I told you that I am fine and everything is going well, it must be a lie. 

To soothe myself and people who concerns.

Checking on everything to make sure I didn't miss out anything.

But I also not sure what else do I need for the day. 

Is my first time so yeah, I have no idea what it is going to be on that day.

Just pray and hope that everything will be fine and goes smoothly. 

Ugh. I got to endure this mixed feeling for these 2 weeks till the day itself!

Oishi Grand, BangkOk

We decided to dine in Baiyoke Sky Bangkok for its magnificent night view on my birthday. But after reading some reviews and comparison, we changed our mind as majority complained of the bad food and poor services at Baiyoke Sky since it had become one of the tourist spot. It's a pity that I did not went to Baiyoke Sky because I had been so eager to dine in a romantic atmosphere with my dear. Anyway, I did not want to take the risk to spoil my mood and wasting money on poorly rated restaurant, just for the night view. 

After doing some research with the help of our best friend, Google, I was introduced to Oishi Grand, serving an international dinner buffet at the price of 699 baht per person which is quite reasonable and worth. Since I had been craving for sashimi and sushi, this is the best option for us. Their service is good and the food is scrumptious and worth for the price. They have sashimi/sushi corner, dessert corner, freshly cooked corner and chinese food. Guess what, they served Haagen-Daaz which is a huge credit. We were so full till I want to puke when I saw the salmon sashimi (eating too much)! But now I craved for it again. Why Sibu doesn't have Oishi Grand??!!

Tan Tan Ramen, Bangkok

The best thing about traveling is food. I get to indulge in all kinds of food especially the local dishes and tasting the variety yummy food around the world. That's why I would gain weight after coming back from the trip.With today's technology and the help of Google, you don't have to worry that you couldn't find the location or food in foreign countries. Again, I read a blog introducing this Tan Tan Ramen saying that it is the best ramen served in Bangkok. Okay, it aroused my appetite and curiosity!

So I took note of the address and thanks to the Google map (smarter this time and to avoid getting lost again), we found the shop without any hassle. Get off at BTS Phrom Phong. Yeah, I did mentioned in my previous entry that the area in Phrom Phong is like a small Japanese town so you'll feel like walking down a street in Japan. Tan Tan Ramen is a 3-storey shop with a very limited spaces. It's get crowded during lunch hour (mostly Japanese) and again, it made me feels like I was having lunch in Japan. 

As for the menu price, it ranges from 100 - 200 baht. So quite affordable and a bowl of ramen is really huge for girl's appetite. My dear helped me to finish it off after he had eaten a plate of egg rice. Often, I amazed at the guy's huge appetite. The ramen is really nice, no kidding! Even the soup is tasty. If not because of my weight control, I would like to try all their ramen!

Lek Seafood, Bangkok

I came across the Lek Seafood from some blogs I read. Since it receives a good feedback and I happened to be in Bangkok, so why not giving it a try then. It is actually quite easy to locate Lek Seafood. It is just right under the BTS Chong Nongsi, walked past the 7-11. But we have a slight trouble finding it because we went to a wrong direction again. Luckily this time we didn’t walk far. See, told you that the street signs in Bangkok are so confusing!

We were so happy to find Lek Seafood as both of us were so hungry. A hungry man is a grumpy man. Heard of it? We ordered quite a lot for 2 persons. Two meat (chicken and pork) dishes, one water morning glory (Kangkong) with sambal, Tom Yam Goong (Spicy and sour – love to the max except that it is too spicy for us!) and not to forget their famous dessert, Mango Sticky Rice. Yummy! All the dishes really taste good. Their Mango Sticky Rice and Tom Yam Goong are must try items on the menu. Big thumbs up! The price is pretty reasonable. I couldn’t remember the exact amount we paid but it costs around 500-600 baht included 3 bowls of rice and 2 iced tea.

We found that Lek Seafood is really well-known, not only among the bloggers but also the tourists. Just a few minutes after we sat down, the whole restaurant is almost crowded with diners and majority of them are tourists from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia! So you know how scrumptious their food is.

Li-Bra-Ry Cafe, Bangkok

It's October! It means my wedding day is approaching and ya, I am starting to get nervous, panic, excite, worry and whatsoever, you named it. 

I am back from my Bangkok trip! The trip was tiring with all the walking and lugging the heavy bags. Our main transportation in Bangkok is BTS. It was really convenient if you do not mind the walking and squeezing during the peak hours. The dusty air, heavy traffic and hot weather in Bangkok are notable so I did not have to explain further on that. Then it rains almost every evening, spoiling my mood as I really hate to get my legs wet. Apart from that, Bangkok is the paradise for shoppers and food lover. Their massage and spa packages are surprisingly good but it all depends on which spa shops you are going. 

Their food and clothes are extremely cheap. You could get a nice cloth with good quality at 100 - 500 baht and the food served at their food courts only cost around 30 - 50 baht. Can you believe it? And guess what, although it is cheap, the food surprisingly taste good too! Look at the price at our Malaysia's food court! Tsk tsk tsk.....I would rather dining at the restaurant/cafe since the price is almost the same. 

Back to the topic, I came across this nice, comfortable ambiance cafe from someone's blog. It is called Li-Bra-Ry Cafe and it's not Library, should be pronounced as Li-Bra-Ry. It's located at Sukhumvit 24. Get off at BTS Phrom Phong. This area was mostly occupied by the Japanese. It was like a small Japan. Every shop/cafe are written in Japanese or owned by Japanese. 

The menu is quite simple with a limited choice but it served a good, tasty food. The ambiance is so comfortable that you won't feel weird or awkward sitting alone there to sip your coffee or grab your bite. It is one of my dream to open this kind of cafe, especially for those alone as I myself is alone most of the times and always search for a cafe where I could grab a bite or spend the time ALONE without drawing any curious eyes.

We were lost and kept walking for approximately 1 hour just to search for this cafe. We went to the opposite direction! We kept searching along Sukhumvit 24/1 and then walked till Sukhumvit 36 and going back again. I was quite irritated with the sweating and soreness so I told my dear that I was giving up and let us went to other place instead. His determination had finally found us the cafe and we realized that we had been wasting our energy and time searching on the wrong direction. So we had a small argument on blaming games! There was another lane called Sukhumvit 24, without 1 at the back. The road lane and signboard in Bangkok is so confusing! You have to walk past Emporium and Asia's Herb Association before you saw their small signboard tagged on the lamp post. Then turn right and there you are! A small, white building awaiting for your coffee break.

We were having our brunch there so we ordered the club sandwich, macadamia cake and their Li-Bra-Ry waffle which is very unique. Delicious! Thumbs up! The price was quite reasonable. The total bill came out to be 590 baht for two of us. A bit expensive for our brunch! So we skipped our heavy lunch meal. We were budget traveler.

Anyway, it is worth a visit if you happen to stay somewhere around BTS Phrom Phong or you have time for it and would like to have a brunch or coffee break
