It had been extremely long I did not touch my blog. I was kinda fed up with it because I have found other better entertainment such as Instagram. At least I don’t have to come up with ideas on what to blog and checking my poor grammar. *shrug*
Anyway, there’s a dissatisfaction feeling inside me that I have to let it out somewhere. So shamefully, yes, I was going to blog it here. I heard of something which I find it quite offensive and “insulting” my hard work. My mum blurted it out to me incidentally, which I understand that she was keeping it from me with a good intention. It was not a big deal, really. Okay, here’s what I heard. Some relatives were questioning on my graduation photo. Their question was did I really graduated? Was my certificate authentic? See, no big deal right? I truly understand on their query to my certificate. Is not because I was not qualified. By looking at my graduation photo framed beautifully on the wall, I would question as well. Because I was holding a “fake” certificate that was made up of A4 size paper. There was an explanation to it. I took the studio graduation photo a few days earlier than my actual graduation day. So it explained. I haven’t obtained my real certificate roll. Why I took the photo so early? Because I have to go back hometown after my graduation day so it left me no time to go and take those studio photos. Okay, I was so anxious and content till I couldn’t wait on the day itself. It was my first time, what. I didn’t know there was a certificate roll until I got it on graduation then I realized something missing in my photos. Too late, right. I was a poor student so I couldn’t manage to pay another amount to shoot another roll of graduation photos.
Sigh. I felt insulted with their question because first, it clearly showed that they were looking down at me (I am okay with it or should I say I have gotten used to it) and secondly, did they understand what hardships and setbacks I had went through during pursuing my degree? It was like a hell to me. I was in a depression state. How many times I had thought of giving up? I admitted that I was not a born-smart person. But I had tried and study so hard for it. The lecturers were so damn arrogant and looking down on people like me. Heaps of assignments, projects, presentations and exams. A nightmare to me! I was having insomnia during those days. So how can they judge me like that? Even till today, they still were judging me that I was only doing an “admin” work in an office. “A very simple and easy job”. wtf.
I am doing an admin/secretarial work but it was not an easy job. Oh my, do I have to explain in details on what I did? Even if I told, you people wouldn’t understand what is my job scope as well. In a simpler way, I was handling all the documents related to listing since our company is a public listed and my work is 'private and confidential' because it was related to the whole group of companies. Something like I know when to get the bonus and how much is the bonus given beforehand. Issue like acquisition of a company, shares or bla bla bla. I was serving those Directors, arrange for the board meeting, annual general meeting and whatsoever they need. It was a stress and pressure work too. Sometimes I just fed up with people judging me without better understanding including my relatives and friends. I didn’t have that fate to live luxuriously and everything goes smoothly with golden spoon on my mouth. I didn’t have a good brain. I didn’t graduate with a first class honour or excellence grade. But I really, really, really worked so hard for them. At least, God hears my prayer and did let me graduate with Second class honour, get me a good job with a not-so-bad salary. I was able to live well, eat well and dress well although is not lavish. I live humbly, talk humbly and smile humbly and that doesn’t mean that you people can judge me like that. Wtf.
Conclusion is my graduation certificate is authentic!!!! Don’t force me to frame my ‘certificate’ on the wall for you people to see! I didn’t have that much money to buy the ‘certificate’. I proudly obtained it with my hard works and ‘smartness’. Damn~
